Short walk around Mill Pond, Milton

Hello,

It has been a rather long time since I've posted. I have another post in the draft folder that I meant to tidy and publish a few months back, and sadly it has sat there forgotten.

I personally find it tough to post about hiking, camping, etc., when the weather outside is frightful, but I need to get over it. Life doesn't stop just because it's not the more pristine weather outside! I need to come up with posts that are related to these topics and that can be shared with my readers in those downtimes. I still have a love and passion for all these things even in less than desirable conditions, so my blog should continue to be updated!

All that to say, the weather is getting nicer. I'm very excited about this. It feels like it took a really long time for us to get there this year, with a late snow storm in April and then ridiculous winds and such in this early May. We had a huge pine tree blocking one entrance of our townhouse complex driveway!

We took advantage of my new sandals and the just above 20 degrees Celsius that occurred this past weekend to walk around Mill Pond in Milton, Ontario. We hadn't been there in a very long time. It's a nice family friendly walk that doesn't take up much time and other than a big tree that was in the way in one section (which we went off path to continue on the proper path - not something we usually encourage, but there already seemed to have been decent foot traffic where we detoured so we didn't feel as bad). If need be, you can go about with a stroller, but it was nice to have our almost three-year-old walk the whole thing! OK, I carried her a tiny bit here and there, but otherwise she did fantastic.

If you ever are in the Milton area, we suggest this nice and quick walk about the pond to see wildlife, people fishing and just enjoy some nature within the city.

I hope everyone else has been able to get out and about, and enjoy this wonderful weather we are having.

We are very eager to get back into long hikes and camping trips. Speaking of which, any trail suggestions? And we already have our bigger family camping trip booked and we are pretty excited to check out Silent Lake.

Let us know of any topics you'd like for us to discuss and we would be happy to write a post about it; it can be about hiking, camping, family oriented outings, gear... pretty much anything outdoor related. Or indoor that can help with the outdoor!

Thank you for visiting and let's see where we roam next.

Rachel
